Actually, to my boss's dismay, heer at NCA we have determined that it grows on a candy cob, thus making the yellow part the top.

I have a few theories on where candy corn, or as I like to call it “The Devils Candy”, comes from:

1)Baby Unicorn Horns - Each candy corn is a processed baby unicorn horn. I have heard rumors that the major candy companies have been raising huge herds of unicorns so that the baby unicorns could be slaughtered for their tiny horns.

2)Children’s Bad Dreams - In 1880, George Renninger of the Wunderlee Candy Co. created a machine that solidified the essense of children’s nighmares. George discovered that when the dream essense was added to kernels of corn the result was the grotesque candy-like kernal that we all know as candy corn. This theory would explain the high corrilation betweeen eating candy corn and having nighmares.

3)The Cheesecake Factory – We all know that The Cheesecake Factory has disturbingly big portions of bland food. Because of the portion size and lack of flavor in the food, customers can’t possibly finish their meals. This means there is an abnormally large amount of food that is left for the restaurant to throw away at the end of the evening. Instead of throwing the food away, the leftovers are processed and molded into candy corn.
