Ode to a Mellocreme Pumpkin

Ode to a Mellocreme Pumpkin | Candy Dish Blog

You are orange and green
You taste like a dream
And you are manufactured in a facility that processes peanuts, tree nuts, sunflower seeds, milk, soy, and wheat
You herald the fall
From the special Halloween candy aisle I hear your call
You contain Partially Hydrogenated Cottonseed and/or Soybean Oil, which adds a dietarily insignificant amount of fat
Oh, sweet, sweet mellowcreme pumpkin…let’s get together tonight in front of the Gilmore Girls
Where I will feast upon you until I very nearly hurl
They don’t put nearly enough of you in the Brach’s Autumn Mix.
Amen

Best Candy Corn Poem Ever

From A Duck in Her Pond: Ode to Candy Corn and How I Love Thee

A kernel from her poem:

Candy corn, my sweet, you've gotten a bad rap.
People say you're too sugary,
Too sickening,
Liable to make everyone fat.

But they don't know what I know,
oh candy o' mine.
They don't know how tasty you are,
how delicious,
how you make me shine.

You've gotta read it all. Great poem!

Candy Corn: Poems

I learned of a book today called Candy Corn: Poems by James Stevenson.

I noticed on the book cover that they left a couple pieces of candy corn in the bowl and spilled 10 others. What a shame.

Here's two poems I read today online:

Pumpkin Poop
Use candy corn, and put them into a little plastic or real pumpkin and tie the poem to it.

I started to carve a pumpkin
With my carving knife and scoop.
But the pumpkin got so scared
He took a little poop.
It looked so cute and funny
Just like a candy treat.
So I'm sharing it with you now
Because you're so sweet.

Candy Corn Poem
Put candy corn in a mug or Halloween bag or box and attach this poem:

Halloween is almost here
goblins and ghosts, oh the fear!
Pumpkins, black cats and witches too,
Bobbing for apples and witches brew.
So jump for joy and sound the horn,
relax and have some candy corn!
